A Session of Sessions – IPA and Porter

The kettle has been boiling this week as my session obsession continues. Though I was quite pleased with my first batch of session IPA, I wanted to tinker with the hop profile. The hop flavor tailed off too early so I added another .5 oz flavor hop addition of Cascade at 30 minutes.
The More the Merrier
As I was talking with my brother about brewing the second IPA batch he said to me “Hey! You should make a porter to go with it.”
I said “Hey! That’s a good idea.”
I had an opportunity for some down time during this past week that allowed me to brew both batches within a few days. Each will yield just over a case of light, enjoyable beers for this summer.
Here is my first take on creating a dark beer to couple with the hoppy summer IPA.

Hey, brother. Can’t wait to try both of your session ales during a kick-back conversation session. Let’s fire up the grill, too!
